The NBA playoffs are giving us a glimpse of what it is going to take to win in the league in the coming seasons, for at least as long as the salary cap rules prohibit loading up a team with three highly paid superstars.

No superteams means more “teams.”

We are seeing less isolation on offense and more team basketball. More players are touching the ball on each possession. There is more ball movement and player movement. You don’t have those three superstars who need guaranteed touches and opportunities.
