The Blazers are winning too many games and they need to do something about it
Making a deal at the trade deadline is imperative and Anfernee Simons makes the most sense
I warned people about this earlier in the season, but the Trail Blazers are starting to win too many games if they want the best possible odds of grabbing the top pick in the 2025 draft.
After that win in Miami Tuesday night, Portland raised its record to 15-28. Sounds pretty bad, right? But the problem for the Trail Blazers is that there are other teams doing a lot better at losing games than they are.
I will make it clear once again that I am not in favor of tanking. It’s a big NBA problem and when you have teams clearly trying to be losers you have a league without a conscience. At the same time, I get it. I understand it. If you are going to be bad, anyway — as the Trail Blazers were certain to be — you may as well go ahead and try to be the worst of the bad.
