Oregon State should honor its big-time baseball program with more NIL funds
Will the football or basketball programs ever be in the hunt for a national title?
As the Oregon State Beavers prepare to head off to Omaha for yet another appearance in the College World Series, it’s time for some real talk about financial support for that program.
The world of NIL is changing rapidly and it appears that universities will have a cap on the amount of money that can be spent on name, image and likeness payments to their athletes.
And I’m here to tell you they would be very wise to make sure the baseball program gets a much larger piece of that NIL pie than it has been getting. Think about it — you can talk about football and basketball all you want and I realize the financial responsibility they have for keeping the whole business running.
