Why do so many people want to watch Portland Trail Blazer games for free? Whether it’s streaming or on their regular television, people are upset — seemingly every season — with whatever delivery systems the team is using in a given season.

I’m old enough to remember a time when teams’ games were seldom televised. The Blazers, under Harry Glickman, had a long-time policy of just 20 TV games a year, with most of them road games. The thinking in those days was that you didn’t want to allow people to consume the product for free because they would stop buying tickets to see live games.
